The College of Communication?s official radio station DZMC-FM 98.3 temporarily stopped its operation after Dean Robert F. Soriano instructed to wait for the license from the National Telecommunications Commission.
According to Pamela Fernandez, Assistant Station Manager, Professor Clarita Valdez-Ramos, Station Manager told her last October 28 that they had to postpone the plan for airing on November 11, and cancel all scheduled activity concerning the matter.
Professor Edna Bernabe, former Program Manager, said that the application is already underway. That both said mentors will be submitting all documents to NTC. She also added that the letter of application for the permit is already in the office of President Dante Guevarra.
Prof Bernabe mentioned that Dean advised to finish the level of test broadcast. She emphasized that we will ask for a temporary airing permit status from NTC during the whole process.
However, Fernandez believed that for a community radio station working under less than 5 watts, permit is not necessarily needed while waiting for the license. She also reiterated that they are done with the test broadcast, and that that are ready for the regular programming on a 2-watt frequency.
It was in February this year when the radio station started with the call sign of DZMC 98.3. A simulation effected last June 19 with a re-launch on the 30th of September. Former station manager and adviser of BroadCircle Prof. Malaya Abadilla-Ygot resigned shortly after Prof Bernabe?s chairmanship. Weeks later, Department of Broadcast Communication Chairperson Prof Ma. Victoria Red appointed Prof. Ramos as the new station manager; while Prof. Bernabe chose Prof. Kriztine Viray as the new Program Manager.
As of this moment, there is no clear date yet for the re-airing of the said radio station. ● Arlyn Amboy & Hernan Aguacito

It is a habit. Students waiting patiently in long lines during enrollment just to assure a slot in the nation?s cheapest University, is never alien to us. In fact, PUPians experience this helllike scenario every after semester. With the so called ?Total University? slogan of the Guevarra administration, they came up with a way to make enrollment procedure easy and hassle free. Their solution? The developmental fee. And the result? A big flop!
